Week 9 Fantasy: In The Club/Out

These last couple weeks have been rough to say the least.  Barring more bad luck, here are some week nine picks.

*Prediction season record: 38 – 32

In The Club:

grantGreen Bay Packers RB Ryan Grant:

Tampa Bay’s run defense gives up an average of 162.4 yards a game and have given up six rushing touchdowns in the past three weeks.  The fact that they are wearing their throwback uni’s, reminiscent of their 0-16 season back in the day makes Grant a no-brainer.   Must start this week in my book.

Projected: 19 car 93 yds 3 rec 27 yds 1 td

New Orleans Saints Entire Backfield:

The Panthers are horrible against the run.  Pierre Thomas and Mike Bell are solid starts this week.  Carolina ranks 24 against the run.  Look for the Saints offense to explode once again.

Projected: Total rushing yards: 138 Tds: 2

Philadelphia Eagles QB Donavan McNabb:

Look for him to go off this week.  Dallas has a poor pass defense, andthe way Philly has been playing, makes it hard to not have him up here, especially with Desean Jackson running wild lately.

Projected: 19/25 234 yds 2 tds 1 int

Out The Club:

ryanAtlanta Falcons QB Matt Ryan:

Ryan hasn’t looked too good as of late, throwing seven INTs in his last three games.  He is playing the #2 ranked pass defense in the Redskins who are also coming of a bye week. Things aren’t looking any brighter for Matt Ryan this week.

Projected: 17/26 213 1 tds 2 ints

Houston Texans RB Ryan Moats:

I know it might be easy to jump on his banwagon after a 3 touchdown performance.  However, Houston is   still undecided on their starter and might be platooning three running backs this week.  Also, Steve Slaton likes to play against the Colts as he scored three times last year against them.

Projected: 9 car 36 yds 0 tds

Houston Texans QB Matt Schaub:

With the loss of his security blanket in Owen Daniels, I don’t think he will be the same this week.  He plays a pretty good Colts pass defense who have given up the fewest passing touchdowns this year.

Projected: 17/27 235 yds 1 td 1 int

Sleeper:

Kansas City RB Jamaal Charles:

He has a legitimate shot at being a decent start this week.  In his 90 career carries he has averaged 5.3 yards a carry.  We will see how he does carrying a full load this week.  Last week Chris Johnson gave Jacksonville some problems and Jamaal Charles style is very similar to that of Johnson’s.

Projected: 18 car 78 yds 5 rec 34 yds 1 td

Green Bay Packers WR Donald Driver:

Greg Jennings hasn’t been as much of a factor this year as he has in recent years, and that’s been good for Driver.  He’s been averaging about 7 looks and 75 yards a game.  Driver has been dealing with a neck injury, but it’s minor and shouldn’t be anything to worry about.  Playing the lowly Bucs will make him forget he ever hurt it.

Projected: 6 rec 84 yds 1 td
