The Bucs have agreed to send DE Gaines Adams to the Bears for a 2nd round draft pick.
Adams was drafted 4th overall in 2007 and has easily become one of the biggest busts in Bucs history. He rarely has an impact on games and often looks like he lacks the desire needed to become an elite pass rusher in the NFL. This is evident by the 12.5 career sacks he had coming into the season and the lone sack that he currently has on the year.
Notable players the Bucs chose Adams ahead of: Adrian Peterson, Patrick Willis, Marshawn Lynch, Darrelle Revis, Michael Griffin, Jon Beason (all of these players listed are Pro Bowlers).
I can’t believe they passed an Peterson and all those other studs.
Its the Bucs, what do you expect?
No man, it’s way to early to call him the biggest bust in history, which is why the Bears grabbed him for a late 2nd round pick. Ogunleye is in the last year of his contract, and that gives the Bears all of next season to see if Adams is worth keeping. I think it’s a low risk/high reward situation. The Bears are known for snatching 2nd round pick type players in the later rounds anyways.
You kidding? Anytime you trade the 4th overall pick in the draft for a 2nd round pick means you are salvaging whatever you can. He totally screwed them so they want to get rid of him before his value drops even more and they’re stuck with him. Waste of a pick.
