1. New England Patriots – The Patriots have high expectations with the return of Tom Brady. The offense obviously won’t put up the same numbers it did two years ago, but they should still be in the top three this year. The defensive front seven is great, led by second year linebacker Jerod Mayo. The division has improved greatly since Brady went down last year. That’s why I like the Pats for about 12 wins and on the outside looking in on a first round bye.
1st Round Pick: None
Key Move: WR Joey Galloway 1 yr. $1.75 million
2. New York Jets – The Jets should be this year’s Baltimore Ravens. Great defense and running game, along with a rookie QB. If Mark Sanchez can just be an average quarterback this season, there’s no reason why the Jets won’t make the playoffs. I like the Jets for a Wild Card spot this year.
1st Round Pick: QB Mark Sanchez
Key move: LB Bart Scott 6 yrs. $48 million
3. Miami Dolphins – Will year two of the Wildcat be a success? I think not. Even with the addition of Pat White I think teams and coaches are too smart to let the Wildcat work again. Too much tape is out on it and that doesn’t work in favor of the Dolphins. Without the formation, they have a very average offense. The defense doesn’t stand out to me either. With that said, I’m not too high on them this year. I see the Fins winning eight or nine games.
1st Round Pick: CB Vonte Davis
Key Move: Jason Taylor 1 yr. $1.1 million
4. Buffalo Bills – I like the Bills this year, I really do. The only reason I have them finishing last in the division is because of the fact that Marshawn Lynch is suspended for the first three games. That’s the difference between seven and ten win season and a possible playoff spot. Their defense has a lot of potential. The addition of Terrell Owens makes a huge impact on the offense and could make Trent Edwards a legit QB. Maybe next year Buffalo.
1st Round Pick: DE Aaron Maybin, C Eric Wood
Key Move: Terrell Owens 1yr. $6.5 million
I disagree with a few things. Even though I love the Fins, they are finishing last and will be lucky to play .500 ball. They aren’t sweeping the Bills and beating the Pats again. However, you can’t just write off the Wildcat like that. Teams studied up on it last year and still had trouble. It’s a tough formation. As for the Bills, they will be interesting to watch now that they have never-a-dull-moment TO. Losing Lynch for 3 games won’t be that devastating either. Fred Jackson could be a starter in the NFL and will do just fine in Lynch’s absence.
i disagree with you luc its not gunna happen that way, the fins are taking it all this year my man. Pat White and the wild cat are gunna run all over these other teams and i cant wait till it happens.
