To give you a little background info on the “Polish Hammer” Gortat, he averaged 3.8 points and 4.5 rebounds in 12 minutes per game last season, his second in the NBA. Why the Magic agreed to pay him starter money when he will still be Dwight Howard’s backup is beyond me. But wait, it gets better.
Gortat was “very disappointed” with the news. Wait, what? You just received a contract $17 million more than what you’re worth and you have the cojones to say you’re disappointed? You ungrateful Pole!
Apparently he had his heart set on going to Dallas with the opportunity to start. Okay, so that didn’t happen. Now show a little respect for the team that gave you the chance to be what you are now, one of the most overpaid backups in the NBA. I admit, the Magic are my team and I was a big fan of Gortat. I lost a little love for my man, though.
