lac11. Blake Griffin – PF – Oklahoma

Nothing to be said here. Although it will be interesting to see what the team does with Camby, Kaman, or Randolph.

Grade: A

grizzlies-logo2. Hasheem Thabeet – C – Connecticut

With the addition of the Dikembe Mutombo-like Thabeet, Memphis now has two solid 7-footers down low (Gasol). Conley, Mayo, Gay, and now Quentin Richardson made drafting the big man a no-brainer.

Grade: A

thunder3. James Harden – G – Arizona State

Some were surprised by this pick and would have liked to see Rubio go here. Already having Russell Westbrook, I think the team made a good choice as Harden will add to an another lethal scorer in Kevin Durant.

Grade: B+

sac4. Tyreke Evans – G – Memphis

Not a true point guard like Rubio or Flynn, but Evans is a freak who has the potential to be a great NBA player. If he keeps getting better at the one, as he was doing at Memphis, he’ll be scary. He’s an exceptional defender as well.

Grade: B

wolves5. Ricky Rubio – G – Spain

Due to a large buyout and Minnesota’s selection of every guard in the draft, chances are Rubio won’t be in the NBA next season. He’s only 18 and has already been compared to Pistol Pete, though. That’s a pretty lofty comparison.

Grade: C-

wolves6. Jonny Flynn – G – Syracuse

Flynn may be only be 5-11 but he plays much larger. Personally, he’s one of my favorites in the draft class. The only reason I gave both Rubio and Flynn a C- was because the moves didn’t make much sense and are migraine-inducing for the franchise. They can’t play together, I don’t care what anyone says.

Grade: C-

warriors7. Stephen Curry – G – Davidson

I wasn’t too high on this pick and that’s not a knock on Curry. Golden State has given up the most points per game for an unreal three straight seasons now. So what do they do? They bring in another scorer. Better yet, one with the same exact build as a guy they already have in Monta Ellis, combining to form yet another undersized backcourt for the Warriors.

Grade: C-

nyk8. Jordan Hill – PF – Arizona

New York fans weren’t happy with the selection, but when are they ever? I guess they forgot they were rebuilding and that almost any pick would help. Hill is one of the best big men in the draft and his athleticism will fit nicely with Mike D’s offense.

Grade: B+

tor9. DeMar DeRozan – G/F – USC

DeRozan is one of those risky picks with a lot of upside. He left USC after one year and is still pretty raw. He wins my award for best name in the draft, though.

Grade: C

mil10. Brandon Jennings – G – USA

Another risky pick here. Yes, the Bucks needed to go point guard here but I would have felt more comfortable going with the more polished Ty Lawson. Jennings still has plenty of work to do.

Grade: B-

njn11. Terrence Williams – G/F – Louisville

Williams is a solid player who can do a number of things. I don’t think the Nets could have done much better here. After losing Vince Carter, some scoring would have been nice, though.

Grade: B

cha12. Gerald Henderson – G – Duke

I don’t know if Henderson is worthy of a lottery selection, but this is not one of the strongest draft classes. Hey, at least the guy is coming from Duke.

Grade: C+

ind13. Tyler Hansbrough – PF – UNC

Another who benefited from a weak draft class. We all know Hansbrough has the heart and dedication but there’s no way he’ll be a starter in the NBA. I consider him the J.J. Redick of power forwards, who was also a lottery selection.

Grade: C+

pho114. Earl Clark – F – Louisville

I love Clark’s length and versatility. I think he was one of the better lottery selections and should mesh well with the Suns style of play.

Grade: B+
