Michael Vick was sentenced to nearly two years in prison for being involved in dog fighting and his reputation has been completely crapped on to a point where there is possibly no way to repair it. Cleveland Browns wide receiver Donte Stallworth was sentenced to 30 days in jail along with probation in a guilty plea for killing a man. Yeah, you read that correctly.
Stallworth was facing 15 years in prison for DUI Manslaughter after he hit and killed a pedestrian on March 14, 2009 while driving home drunk from a club in Miami Florida. I guess the justice system feels that dog fighting is 23 times worse than the killing of a human being, which would then explain why Vick’s sentence was 23 times longer. Ridiculous. The pedestrians name was Mario Reyes, a 59-year-old construction worker.
People care more about animals than they do people in the US. It’s sick. This whole situation is flying under the radar too.
